WATCH: Former SAF Chief Getulio Napeñas Ibinulgar Kung Sino Ang Nag-utos sa SAF44 Sa Pag-atake
President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday stated that the tragedy occurred in Mamasapano incident was due to the $5-million bounty to kill the Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli Abdhir, also called Marwan.
"Katong sa Mamasapano ['Yung nangyari sa Mamasapano], it was a query of greed. Puro sila ano, sa SAF, somebody directing them para makuha nila reward $5 million," Duterte stated.
There had been 44 commandos from the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) have been killed final January 2015 for the duration of their operation to capture Marwan.
Based on GMA report in the statement provided by Former SAF chief Getulio Napeñas, he admitted that it was genuinely former President Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III who ordered them, in the preparing down for the execution of Marwan.
But Napeñas stated that he did not know and did not ask Aquino if he's operating following from the bounty.
"Ang nag-utos at nag-direkta sa arranging, preparation, at execution ng operation kay Marwan ay si PNoy mismo. Kung 'yong reward cash ang motive nya, hindi namin abot at malaman dahil dahil 'di nya sinabi," Napeñas mentioned.
"Sa totoo lang, hindi ko naman pwede tanungin sa kanya 'yan noong nag briefing ako sa Bahay Pangarap na, 'Mr President ang motive mo ba sa pag-utos sa amin ay 'yong reward cash?,'" he added.
Napeñas stated that SAF hasn't received any quantity in the reward.
"Alam namin na ang reward ay mapupunta sa informant, at hindi SAF ang may hawak sa informant, kaya wala ni kusing natanggap ang SAF na reward." Napeñas stated.
