Teams were dispatched to look for the missing child after call was made to Cebu's Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) around noontime from Carcar's disaster risk reduction office.
The child had been swimming in the stream when he was carried away. Despite the fact that the downpour wasn't substantial until the evening, the province's disaster office thought the downpour had effectively made conditions along the stream perilous for swimming.
