Cesar Montano has expressed his full trust and support for President Rodrigo Duterte and his aggressive campaign against the illegal drug trade in the country.
According to the veteran actor, eradicating the problem of illegal drugs will give the Philippines a better and brighter future.
“Lalo na sa ginagawa niya, totoo naman talagang kapani-paniwala naman yung 700,000 na ang drug dependents, kasama na riyan yung mga protectors, kasama diyan yung mga pushers, lahat-lahat na… Isipin mo kung nawala lahat iyan, anong ganda ng bansa natin,” Montano said.
(Especially with what he is doing, it is truly believable that there are around 700,000 drug dependents, including the protectors, pushers and others… Imagine how beautiful our country will be if all of them are eliminated.)
Cesar Montano also expressed his disappointment towards the President’s critics, saying that they should just show their 100% full support for Duterte since he was elected as the leader of the country.
As for getting a government post for supporting the administration of Duterte, the actor said that he is willing to accept any position that will be offered to him.
(But you know that whatever would be given to me by the President, I would accept it with joy. It will be an honor and joy for me if I am given a post.)
However, Cesar Montano clarified that he will continue supporting Duterte whether he is given a government post or not. He said that the reason why he supports Duterte is because he believes in what he can do for the betterment of the Philippines.
Several celebrity supporters of Duterte were already given government posts. Aiza Seguerra was appointed as the National Youth Commission chair, Freddie Aguilar as the National Commission for Culture and the Arts chief, and Arnell Ignacio as PAGCOR AVP.
