Press Secretary Martin Andanar defended the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte after die-hard supporter Mocha Uson called media who are very critical about Duterte’s leadership as ‘presstitutes’.
Andanar said that the Office of the President does not have anything to do with Uson’s statement despite her loyalty and support to the President.
“Kanya-kanyang pananaw naman ‘yan. Lahat naman tayo dito, halos lahat kayo kolumnista. May kanya-kanyang kayong column, may kanya-kanya kayong pananaw. ‘Yun ang pananaw ni Mocha, so she’s entitled to her own opinion,” the Press Secretary explained.
(We all have our own views. Every one of us here are columnists. Each of you has your own column and own views. That is Mocha’s view, so she is entitles to her own opinion.)
When asked if Mocha is ruining the President’s image because of her statements, Andanar said that his job is to protect the interest of the President.
Andanar added, “So pagdating po sa mga debate sa social media, the social media is a free space.
(When it comes to debates in social media, the social media is a free space. We don’t have any control over it, so I am not going to intervene in such debate.)
(The important this is to give the meaning of the statements of the President to the public. Which are sometimes misinterpreted by the people.)
Mocha Uson is a die-hard supporter of the President and her statements have drawn flak from the public.
