Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa on Sunday night reported to President Rodrigo Duterte in the middle of a press conference that Superintendent Rafael Dumlao, tagged in the Jee Ick Joo kidnap-slay, is now under police custody.
"Custody na. Mabuti Dumlao, abogado ka pa naman," Duterte said in a late night press briefing in Malacañang following a command conference with top security officials.
Before Dela Rosa's update on Dumlao, the President gave the police officer 24 hours to surrender to the authorities or he will put P5 million bounty for his capture, dead or alive.
"If you do not come out soon, I will offer dead or alive, ikaw mismo Dumlao, P5 million. Dead of alive. You deliver him to me dead, okay ako. Dalhin mo dyan sa gate ng Malacañang patay, buhay, okay sa akin. Dead or alive," Duterte said earlier.
"Itong si Dumlao, you better surrender or clear yourself. Kung wala kang kasalanan, bakit ka umalis sa Crame?" he said.
Dumlao, who was under restrictive custody by the Philippine National Police (PNP), left Camp Crame late Friday.
